It has a lot of minor issues but it’s the only keyboard that does simultaneous two finger swiping. the learning dictionary is really good too. i can consistently type around 100wpm accurately with it.

abusive ex, whom taught me what panic attacks are and how to handle them, yelled at me a lot while i was having one at her house with no ride home. then she wordlessly got up and left for an hour during which i called my fucking mom like “i don’t know what’s happening please come get me”. ex shows up a little before my ride gets there and tells me that what had happened was i started to get worked up, so she left to give me some space. i just wanted to get home so i didn’t push back. then the next week she retold me the story as “you freaked out over nothing and i had to be supportive” and outright demanded that i apologize.

i broke up with her over it, but i recently learned she told all our mutual friends a bizzaro-world reversed version of the story wherein i stranded myself at her house just so i could give her a panic attack and then leave with her car. there’s loads of evidence as to what really happened, but i’m an introvert and didn’t play defense hard enough in the moment, so i did just lose that entire friendgroup.

probably for the best though. lifelong friends of manipulators tend to not be fantastic folks to rely on anyways lmao

My dad has a friend try to talk him into amway sometime in the late 80s/early 90s. He had painted a pyramid shape onto cinder blocks in his basement to explain the revenue stream and everything.

He said no, but that friend ended up high enough in a payment chain that he’s still rich as sin, and my dad got to be one of the scant few that turned down what would’ve actually been a lucrative business venture in a pyramid scheme.

tangential but, when i was teenage-ish i had a friend of a friend that was always kind of standoffish with me. i’m a people pleaser so i was always looking for some way to connect with this guy, but i reckon that was coming across in a weird/bad way.

anyway at one point i found out we had the same birthday, year and everything! i thought it was pretty neat, but he thought i was lying. i got really insistent because from my perspective i had no reason to lie about something so mundane, and ig that rubbed him the wrong way because iirc he never spoke to me again.

lmao we’ve had opposite experiences! i bought 2 old-ass polaroid land cameras that were perfectly functional, and took probably 50 pictures on each of em before the prices on fp-100c film started creeping above $1 per shot.

the impossible project continues to make type 100 film, but they currently charge ~$50 for THREE shots. for context the discontinued fp-100c filmpacks come in 10 packs and would run you ~$100 today. upsettingly high, but STILL CHEAPER than the modern replacement :c
