41·5 days agoAbout 20 years ago, there was only dial-up internet available in my street. My parents lived about 200 m away from me in another street, and they could get ADSL. So I set up a wireless bridge to them, and it worked surprisingly well after some tweaking. Kept it running for a few years, eventually got my own connection because one day my dad called me because he needed the router password. Turns out he was also sharing the connection with his neighbour who was running an internet radio station.

You’re right, drinking distilled water is perfectly fine, just take a multivitamin to compensate for the lack of minerals.
Source for the salty foods? Salt in food is normally sodium chloride, not the calcium or magnesium which you need to replenish.
Can’t find it right now, lots of articles online about electrolyte imbalance causing issues, but none linked to an actual source.
For once, yes. But exclusively? It’ll extract minerals from your body, causing health issues.
Nope, distilled water has nothing, no minerals or anything else, including ions. Deionized water is also not the best for consumption.
I’ve used them to extend arduino connectors in the past. Works great.
I use that too, on a different computer.

7·1 month agoSo you’re looking at an era that you probably don’t remember actively being a part of, and you compare it to the world you do remember. I don’t think I was the one to live in a bubble*. Also, have you seen Musk do the Hitler salute on television? Nobody tried pulling shit like that in 1994.
*I lived, and still live, in a very rural area, which is not know for being progressive.
Why would you think that? I was around in 1994, and if anything, it got worse.
It will not act as a Faraday cage, the holes need to smaller for that, about 1 cm max. However, wifi signals do get disturbed by a cage like this due to the low power of these signals.
