I’m curious as to how many of you have tried this at least in the USA.
Yes I’ve done it. The only thing that sucks is there are things now that require a phone. Like qr code ordering at a restaurant.
In every place I have been to that use this, they will still take order by person. Maybe I’m just lucky, though.
I turn around and walk out of those restaurants.
I love it. Order when you’re ready. Don’t have to wait until the waiter is done helping the other table. See additional “substitution” options listed that you wouldn’t have thought of trying. Pay and leave when you’re ready to go
Not a single restaurant I’ve been in with the QR codes has been like that.
They’ve all simply cheaped out on printed menus.
I did this for a business number many years ago and it worked fine.
If you leave your house regularly this has a number of disadvantages. I can fit my phone in my pocket but most laptops are too large. I can operate a phone with one hand (eg: on the subway). 911 services I think work better with an actual phone. Gps stuff may also work better.
That’s just stuff off the top of my head.
Sounds like you just need bigger pockets and longer fingers!
It would be difficult if you want/need access to communication or info when you’re off wifi or when you’re not at your laptop.
