The same can be said for any piece of technology that leads to job loss. Job loss should be seen as a benefit in these cases but the problem is with our economic system where it predominantly benefits a small percentage.

That said, AI benefits a lot more than just the wealthy, especially compared to say automating a factory. Most state of the art models are open source and anyone who can afford a GPU or the 1.50$ an hour to rent one can benefit.

This is just AI fear mongering. There is no meme here.

    the underlying purpose to AI

Say no more, nothing valuable can follow this set up.

Like seriously, are we to believe that AIs purpose of existence is just one singular thing?? You could say the almost or not the same bullshit about computers or even machines in general or anything else that shifts the dynamic of where labor is needed.

“AI only exists so wealth can steal from you!!!” It’s like those lies people would throw around to create fear like fascists do with minority groups.

Like bro, the wealthy are already stealing from us this doesn’t move the needle a cm. At the same time AI can be a huge help to disabled and elderly, how does that fit into the ultimate purpose of the wealthy removing skilled workers access to wealth.

This shit is a fever dream of weird propaganda

Add on to this that most of the criticisms about AI are just criticisms of automation. The problem isn’t the automation, it’s the fact that society is deliberately structured so that automation doesn’t benefit the vast majority of people as well as it could.

Yeah, the post is only true if we start implementing a bunch of copyright laws for the training and use of AI; ironically that is something most anti-AI people support.

Dude, that’s so right. You should take that to the holocaust museum.

I suspect of people who complain about AI, very few are actually negatively affected by it in that they are graphic artists or copy editors who are now finding that they have less work. I think the vast majority are on a trendy bandwagon and probably aren’t involved in anything sufficiently complicated to see how incredibly useful and powerful of a tool AI actually is.
