I’m curious as to what Fediverse folks prefer. Discord is kind of everywhere.
Neither. I have a discord account to get into a group relating to an old game. Never heard of Matrix. What do people use these for?
Looks like a decentralized Activitypub protocol from what I see
No, ActivityPub is not part of Matrix yet. It currently acts mostly as a decentralised chat ecosystem.
Discord. I have yet to find even one other family/friend that uses Matrix.
Both are way too complicated. Bring back AIM.
ICQ!
mIRC!
IRC!!
Matrix for sure
I’ve made a space for all my peepsMatrix
Matrix when I can. Discord where I just (and usually only I’ll be online only during that period, while I engage actively in discussions on matrix).
I’m not a fan of proprietary things like Discord, GitHub, Reddit, etc
I mainly use Matrix for myself, my family, and have rooms set up for a community.
Discord I have and use as a couple groups of friends are still and basically every game dev uses Discord now and you have to go to Discord to find out any info about the game, look up tips/hints, or even report bugs. FUN!
Teamspeak.
Discord
Everyone I know uses discord, and any attempt to try matrix with friends has more friction than discord. We often make use of streaming gameplay to each other, and I don’t know if that functionality works in matrix because we never get that far.
None, I don’t know many people that use Matrix and I can’t understand Discord.
I don’t really use either.
Neither.
