Eating with him, travelling with him, going out with him, hanging out with him, sex, etc. I’m live-in, so all the companionship a man needs. Technically a de facto personal assistant does a lot of work related stuff, but I don’t really, he has other people for that. Which is why the only “requirements” for this job were good looks and good personality. No previous work experience or higher education required. An acquaintance linked me up when I was 20.

Fascinating. Is there a large age gap? My daughter thought about pursuing this with a guy a couple years ago, but she wanted to get out of sex work so that was a no-go.

Do you enjoy the work, and is it considered “work” on both sides, as in no expectation of romantic intimacy?

Yeah. I enjoy it. It’s work on both sides. This guy is very pragmatic which is why he wants this kind of arrangement in the first place. No nonsense, no waste of time (aka dating). Just a guaranteed good time. That’s his philosophy.

That’s a great way to look at it. Are there any provisions for severance if there comes a time where that arrangement needs to be terminated?

I also want you to know that in no way am I judging what you do for work, to me it’s just work, but I know a lot of people would have different opinions.

I’m already kind of set financially. I obviously get an official monthly salary for my “personal assistant” position - I save all of that & his team invests it for me. The reason I’m able to do this is because he lets me make purchases with his cards. Add to that all the gifts I’ve received. A “breakup” would be super smooth and easy. + NDAs.

I don’t mean this in a demeaning way, but isn’t that just an escort + prostitution?

You’re getting paid for company is one, getting paid for sex is two.

Personally, I don’t see it that way, because I’m not getting paid for sex. I’m getting paid for company - which is a whole thing on its own - just so happens it also includes sex.

What you listed is what escorts do, minus the sex. Hence why I combined the two professions.

Do you have a partner? If so, how does your work influence your private life?

That’s not really accurate. Escorts 99% of the time are mainly about sex. Escorts are fancy prostitutes; or more accurately a fancy term for prostitute. The myth of the “sexless, companion escort” is just a way to sugarcoat/sanitize sex work. It’s also a bit of a dangerous myth to propagate because impressionable people hear it and are like: I’m gonna do this cause it’s easy money and I don’t even have to sleep with anybody - which is just not true in 99% of the cases.

            I don’t have a partner.
