Kinda, vlc uses libavcodec, which ffmpeg also exposes via CMD line, ffplay is a very very stripped down player, and handles a much wider scope of video than vlc does, for a multitude of reasons.

If vlc fails , ffplay via way of ffmpeg should, if THAT fails, you are going to have a tough time

Hmmmm, good question, bit of both, it has changed a lot, but there is also heavy focus on the building mechanics also if that’s your thing, rather than just straight up automation. So like you can make some very very impressive structures in the game. Saying that, you can mostly ignore the building for pretty and just go full on factory just grow mode.

I guess also depends how much you like/are comfortable with the fps view point vs top down? If you like automation and or crafting games, def worth giving it Whirl IMHO!

Legit thought people where being a bit dramatic with back injuries when I was younger, well a few years back and a couple of herniated discs later coupled with sciatica, and… I now think those people where doing very fucking well tbh! Some insanity next level pain!
