Not only are most wireless thermometers on Amazon “meat thermometers” so they gotta show you pictures of the dead animals you’re heating, but they also gotta tell you if it’s beef or chicken specifically in text, or graphic form.

Like I’m trying to just keep something specifically at 32 degrees and maybe an alarm setting if it goes higher?

Yes, fuck! My photography liquid, yes, it’s chicken 😺🍗!

I don’t understand so perhaps you can clarify: are you upset because a picture of a roasted chicken or a brisket is something you’re unwilling to tolerate?

Also, are you looking for a thermometer or a meat thermometer? Like, are you trying to take your own temperature or the temperature of a human being, or are you trying to measure the temperature of your food?

Sounds like they wanted a thermometer but didn’t know that cooking thermometers have different names and was presented with pictures of cooked meat. Judging by their reaction, they find meat unappealing. Their indignation is borne from seeing a thing that they don’t like but is key to the search term they used, “meat thermometer”, when they could have used “candy thermometer” and gotten the same products with different pictures that would be far less offensive. So they are blaming their seeing meat on the choices of others instead of their own inexperience with cooking instruments.

I got interrupted while posting… yeah it’s actually the meat face nobody has mentioned yet that took the cake.

But if you look closely I searched for just a regular old wireless thermometer and the results are all about meat thermometers. I just need a generic one that can go from 0C to maybe 150C. So it should have alarms and such that can beep at any temp along that range. Or at least not have a fuckin chicken on the screen. That way maybe I could make use of the graph on the phone screen via screen shot. But nah… here’s a chicken… imagine using this to monitor oil temp for an experiment and then having to crop all images because there’s a fuckin chicken on them.

I will look for candy thermometers. What a great idea!
