I will not give up my command line, obscure, non-obvious commands that control my machine!

It is an abomination that I don’t have to search for, and then wade through hundreds of AI generated pages of useless information just to show me what services are running with systemd!

I am seriously considering starting my own startup system. I am thinking I could initiate (init) runlevels to start subsystems at various stages. If anyone is interested, hit me up.

Not me, but I have heard that kids used to think ‘olden times’ were black & white, because all old films were before the introduction of colour. Like, it’s only in the last 80? years that people see in colour…

It makes me giggle when modern movies use b&w to depict pre 21st century, or even ‘flashbacks’ are b&w

If we’re 3 meals away from chaos, or 9 meals away from anarchy, human rights won’t be unimportant, but would you place them above your own survival or feeding your children?

A scifi short story I read was set in a somewhat idyllic future.

Robots did everything. Everyone was given housing, food etc. Health was covered and people lived virtually forever. Nobody worked, and you could travel and do anything you wanted.

The most prized thing, that everyone was desperate for, was having an original thought.

Worse still, no manual entry of the birth date, so it takes ages to scroll down and select the year.

That it’s never too late!

The ‘brands’ they are displaying.

I see people checking me and others out. What runners are they? Jordans or KMart? Is that a Lacoste or walmart? Is that a real Rolex or D&G handbag?

But for me, it’s not judging them like you think.

I judge them flashing brands as a sign of insecurity, a need to appear wealthy and ‘fit in’, and a likely ‘keep up with the Jones’ jealous type.

So, I actually feel sad for them.

And, yes, I am aware it’s super judgemental and I’m no doubt hypocritical as well, as there are some things I will buy certain brands for.

The main attractor to me is that with an electric car, you could theoretically be energy independent. Same goes with an ebike.

Eg, Solar -> battery -> EV/ebike

No need to be relying on rotten dinosaurs dug up out of wherever, with a million middle men and taxes.
