Never been but it sounds awful.
tactical security officer sounds like a term made up by an 8 year old
Gravy seals needed a part time job.
It means that when they go to KFC, they bring their own tactical spork.
In this day and age I can’t tell if this is a joke or underselling the issue.
I just walk past anytime they ask me for my receipt. The store has their own copies of the receipt. Use that before you harass me. I have no obligation to adhere to a stores policies. I didn’t nor will I sign a contract with a store for groceries.
I like to give them different store receipts while I walk by. They sometimes give me sas about being one of those people but I’m with you 100%. You literally just watched me pay at the self checkout and you’re still going to accuse me of theft on my way out. Fuck you Seattle Safeway
Ohh this I might also start providing other stores receipts now too.
Then dont shop there if you don’t like the practices of a store? Bob at the door is not trying to dick you around, he’s just doing his job.
You have no obligation to follow store rules, most rules of etiquette, people’s house rules, etc. but it sure makes you look like an entitled Karen if you go into a situation expecting to do it.
Sovcit?
Retard?
Lol everyone is these days
You don’t have to be a sovcit to not be in a formal agreement with a grocery store.
I just got that “pretentious tankie vibe” from their comment. Sorry to offend you.
How do sovereign citizen and tankie go together?
Don’t know what socvit or whatever is, but replying to this that I’m far from a tabkie? Russian sympathizer or whatever.
Sovereign Citizen. The right wing morons who think they can use magic words to get out of bills, taxes, license plates, etc
Gotcha! Laws apply for sure and if there was a law/contract (like costco) that said I needed to provide a receipt after purchase, fine. I have no issues but policy well…isn’t a law so I revert to my first comment.
Thanks for the quick 101 on what the previous person was saying
Yeah, pretty sure that the region has laws against unlawful detention.
Sounds like it’s lawful surveillance.
Lawful, but still hostile to their customers.
tactical security officers
lmao, if someone harassed me over that I’d tell them to get fucked and stop shopping at whatever shithole store was doing it
The only thing you should say to me on my way out is something like, “Have a nice day, thank your for spending your money here.”
“so… you’re a tactical officer?”
“yes ma’am.”
“…at a Ross.”
“…sigh …yes ma’am.”
lol
good way to make sure I never shop in your store again.
Huh.
Today I learned (from the comments) that there are places where stores haven’t been doing this for decades.
It’s why I stopped going to Costco. You just saw me check out, you don’t need to review everything in my cart again, gtfo with that bullshit.
And some of the time it’s not to see if you’re shoplifting, it’s to catch cashiers who don’t scan an item, but take your money, and pocket it. Far cheaper for the store to have one security guard at the door holding up everyone after they paid, then to review security footage of cashiers, or pay cashiers a decent wage where they don’t feel like they have to steal.
The upvotes on this are concerning…
How is their cashier doing crime a buyer’s problem?
Costco is a paid service with terms and conditions you agree to before shopping there, so it’s not like any other store doing this shit (and at those other stores you CAN just ignore the door guard)
conditions you agree
🤡
Are you unfamiliar with how the store works?
You literally sign an agreement and pay yearly to be allowed to shop there, man. If you don’t like it youre fully welcome to not participate?
Never heard about a Ross store, what’s that?
In overall terms, somewhere between trashy Goodwill and rural Walmart in terms of product, price, and atmosphere.
This is an in accurate description of the business model.
The selection at each location will depend on a socio economic make up of the area, sure.
However, their core business is buying “brand” name product from mainline retailers and then resell them.
So what the quality varies based on what brand you are buying. It ain’t all bottom of the barrel but good shit gets picked over pretty quickly.
All of this in context of all clothes being turned into plastic waste for profit and as fuck you to the peasants classes. No cotton for you, slave.
Ross Dress For Less is a clothing store. Similar to Marshalls or TJ Max.
It’s basically a department store where they throw everything on the floor.
In my area, extremely common target for shoplifters. Like, if there isn’t at least 5 attempts of shoplifting at a Ross store in a few hours, it’s not a Ross store. They usually end up having to close up around here because the losses are so bad. We were down to just one, but it got turned into a TJ Maxx, which is basically the exact same thing.
They usually sell discount and cheap clothing, mostly. They ahve other stuff as well, but they mostly carry clothes.
I don’t shop at Ross stores now… so I will continue not shopping at them.
