    I would just buy the government, install my self as a dictator.

    Now for my agenda:

    Universal Basic Income

    Fair wages

    Strengthen Union Rights

    Universal Socialized Healthcare

    Equal Rights

    Paid Holidays

    More Vacation Times

    Progressive taxation

    etc. etc. all the good things

    Then order statues of me built in every major city. Schools will have to teach of how benevolent I am. I will live on forever as the greatest benevolent dictator ever.

    Then create a constitutional framework that is both democratic, and establish socialism as one of the goals of civillization. Incorporate the concept of Defensive Democracy with socialism entrenched into the constitution. Eventually, socity will be equal, and the state is no longer necessary. Add a clause that allows people to disband the state if 60% of the people want to.

    With these rules, hold elections, while I oversee everything to make sure its working correctly. And once I have ensured the stability, I will resign, and enjoy life.

    (Okay maybe I daydream too much. But I always want to be the best benevolent dictator in history of humankind 😅)

      You need way less money for this plan than you think. I’m still working on the framework, but start doing some research into starting a non-profit apartment complex. I believe this will be the easiest way to create a foothold to save the world.

      People in homes (non-profit apartments), food in mouths (contracts with companies to become an internal job board for tenants + start moving grocery stores into the apartments), life enriched (entertainment, travel, work-life balance)

      These are the building blocks required for life, and providing them with a servant mindset will inspire people to expect that everyone should have these. It’s the same concept of “I had it this way [hard] when I was little, you should too”

      Rich people as so unimaginative and foolishly selfish, if you did all of this the people of whichever country you bought would treat you like a god and defend you to the death. Benevolent rulers inspire loyalty.

        The power will go to his head when people start trying to assassinate him. He will go crazy looking for plotters and purge a bunch of people, establish secret police to look for them, and it will end as badly as every well intentioned moment in human history.

        This is human nature and we can’t stop it. People will try to kill him and his family and he will lose his mind because of it.

          The technology already exists today for a leader to lead their people from a remote secure arcology orbiting the moon. Nobody’s done it, but we could. The only people that can reach you out there are entire countries and their militaries, or other people just as rich as you, and no matter who’s coming out there they aren’t going to sneak up on you.

      I think it’s a case of correlation not causation. To become truly wealthy in present day society involves stepping on a lot of people. To relish in being on top, desire more and more wealth and power even as you achieve levels that set you apart from the rest of society. I don’t think that mindset is the same as being a pedophile, but it’s the same as the mindset you would probably have to have to actually have sex with a child.

    I mean at that point its a pathological need to be ‘better’/different from everybody else. Poor people can travel the world, poor people can take a booze cruise even if they don’t own the yacht, poor people can even go to space if they train and study enough. If poor people are pedos its a whole lot harder for them to get away with it and they definitely can’t have parties or tell anyone about it. So the exclusivity, plus the fact that its become ritualized and used for blackmail purposes mean that once you’ve been pushed to cross that line once, you keep crossing it, and pushing others to cross it with you.

        However, I’m kind of amazed anyone could take that serious. Like, I get that tone doesn’t translate to text all the time, but everything in it was building off the final panel of the comic.

        While certainly going further than the comic, it’s based in the same idea the final line is about caviar ffs.

        Tbh, I would say that anyone assuming it was some kind of serious statement is an idiot. It’s absurdly over the top. It isn’t the kind of humor everyone likes for sure. But it’s the same fucking joke as the post: the rich want to diddle kids.

        Like, there’s always going to some degree of “you can’t joke about that” any time it’s around sensitive subjects, but you’re the only one so far that’s been blind enough to presume it’s anything other than humor.

        Not that it matters, as the deletion federates, it’ll go byebye, so you won’t have to see it again.

            It’s all about the audience. That bit would get a better reaction among some of the EMTs I know. It isn’t all EMTs, but they tend to use gallows or dark humor as a way to deal with the ugly.

            Tbh, anyone that deals with the ugly has to find a way to deal, and humor, no matter how dark, is a lot better than some of the other options.

      It might be as simple as doing what you know best.

      Fratbro campus rapist becomes blow snorting horny middle manager becomes strip-club frequenting VP Yes-Man becomes CEO Horndog Chief Executive. Why would this person donate to charity or build out infrastructure or sponsor art or explore the world or the stars? They didn’t get rich doing any of that. They got rich wrangling under-aged girls for their bosses for the last 30 years.

      Musk is a great example. The whole foundation of his trillion dollar empire was him throwing orgies at Stanford for his richer friends.

But Elon, not only does this go against his ex wife’s accounts of their college experiences, it’s also just like he’s too incel category loser.
