It’s January 22, 2025. People are still spamming politics in communities unrelated to politics. Despite being told multiple times to stop, I don’t think they can take a hint.

Now now, no one is suggesting violence (out loud). OP is just letting people know that the information is available. If someone uses that information to enact justice where the legal system failed to? Well that’s up to them and none of my business.
Politics is involved in EVERY aspect of life whether you realize it or not - particularly those involving any other person. It affects through what kind of lens things are viewed - factual or not. Even trying to avoid given topics reveals your political leanings. THIS fact is DEFINITELY something you should know.

A large group of militant citizens trying to overthrow a global superpower is newsworthy to everyone whether you want it to or not.
I’m American so I was I not supposed to care about the recent situation in South Korea? Should I have complained because not everyone on Lemmy is a South Korean citizen?
Not only is it basic human decency to empathize with others regardless of their geographical coordinates, but political crises across the globe can still potentially affect me, even indirectly.
That event wasn’t posted on !youshouldknow@lemmy.world , it was posted on World News communities, where this post would completely fit.
